  1. Skimmer at A.M. or P.M.

ph should become more acidic at night due to increase in co2 (as there is less photosythesis and more respiration). so there is an increase in carbonic acid (i think)
  2. Live fish in Live Rock

I think it's a moon wrasse, blue green with orange stripes on his face, and a black spot on his tail, its about 3inches long
  3. Live fish in Live Rock

I posted this in the UK counterpart website but thought i might be able to catch some londonites here as well. I got some liverock yesterday. and to my surprise, I found a wrasse in my tank this morning! talk about a hitch-hiker! It managed to survive about 45 minutes out of the water...
  4. How strong should the return from the sump be?

yeah its only about the reteurn from the sump to the tank, I have powerheads for the tank. I am just hesitant as to what pump to buy as a return.
  5. How strong should the return from the sump be?

How strong should the return from the sump be? The water in my sump needs to rise 1.5 meters. are there any standards? my tank is 260 liters and i expect my sump to hold about 35 liters. any suggestions?
  6. Cheap and easy sump?

In theory I don't need an overflow box just an elbow close to the surface of the tank which ensures that if the outpump fails then only so much water as is above the bottom of the elbow will siphon out of the tank right? Also I should get an overflow weir (which I am unsure what it is). and...

  10. Cheap and easy sump?

No, it's got hole in the bottom. Its a fluval vincenza. I got it because it had holes in the bottom pre-drilled, it seemed like a neat solution, and it was cheaper than all other pre drilled i could find.
  11. Cheap and easy sump?

Ok, just to clarify the tank is predrilled with two holes in the bottom of the tank. I suppose some of you are right I need to heighten the intake tube so that it reaches closer to the surface. In this way only the water between the top of the tube and the surface will flow in. Why would I...

  13. Cheap and easy sump?

I have jus bought a tank, I bought one pre-drilled so that i could get a sump into it and I considering how to approach the whole thing. I can see myself falling into a lot of traps. currently my tank has a fluval 305 attached to the pre drilled holes. but i want to get rid of this in favour...
