Thanks. Lights are OK but water flow to the area may be a problem. I can't test phosphate but I have a refugium with macroalgae. Would adding Phosguard harm the macroalgae. I also bought a Diamondback Goby to see if he would stir up the sand.
Unsightly red slime algae on my sand and some on glass. Very fast growing overnight when I manually remove it. Saw some RED SLIME REMOVER (powder ) at dealer Is this appropiate and safe in a 90 gal reef tank.
My pH is at 7.9-8.0 with the lights on. Alk is high 6.5meq/L Calcium 425 Nitrates 10-20 Ammon. neg. How can I raise pH with alk so high already?or should I just leave things? Is a pH of 7.8 -7.9 dangerous? (I have a 90 gal reef tank.)
Thanks for the reply. Tank is 2 months old. lighting is VHO with 4 Coral life bulbs (incl actinic) pH 8.2 alk. high normal Nitrite 0 nitrate 2 I have tried different spots for current
(3 Maxi-Jet powerheads) Should I push Ca higher
Presently using Kent 2-part Ca system. Is Kalkwasser better?
I'm new to reefkeeping.I've had a finger leather coral for about 4weeks. He looks healthy except i've never seen the yellow polyps come out. Tried different spots in the tank. Feeding him Kent phytoplankton. Water parameters look good.Calcium bit low 380mg/L. Same story with my open brain...
