  3. Is there any meaning to build a skimmer for Fresh water tank?

    It won't work, simple as that. The protein skimmers make "sea foam" which carries the undisolved solids out of the water column. Your standard power filter will do the trick, which had mechanical, chemical, and biological filtration built in. Aquaclear power filters are great!
  4. DIY plans

    Wetworx nano skimmers - by UndertheRadar http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=58540 He has two solid versions for skimming, the recirculating one is the best. Go to about page 16 or 17 to see it!
  5. Home Depot Acrylic

    If you're going to make an acrylic show tank, then I would suggest the acrylite. BTW-the company that manufactures acrylite is in Jersey City, NJ. If it's for a sump, the extruded acrylic from HD worked great for me. Just remember, that you must put some sort of cross bracing in place if your...
  6. Where do you suggest I glue this frag?

    :joke: I've been away for a bit, but by the pic you can tell why. On November 17th, my wife and I welcomed Isabel Jude Flanagan into our lives. So between feeding, burping, changing diapers, forgetting to eat and sleep, and doing lots of laundry, I finally had a chance to hop on and see how...

  8. I'm looking for some free Macro

    I'm looking for some Macro! willing to pay! Don't need a lot, just some macro to go in my sump. So if anyone is trimming the macro, I'd gladly take it instead of you trashing it. Thx Matt

    yeah that time around, but what would "Brian Boytano Do?" (cheesy SouthPark reference)
  10. Reef Thief doghoused!

    The part that sucks the most is that loser prolly killed the coral, trashed it to hide any evidence, so one stolen coral = one dead coral. Now if someone left me alone in their grow room. . . . .
  11. Reef Thief doghoused!

  12. What the heck is this??????

    could be a spaghetti worm, I have them all over my LR, especially if they all extend out of a hole in the LR and then retract back in here's a link that may shed more light http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-06/rs/index.php
  13. ++WANT/TRADE: Star Polyps

    I have an unmounted strip of gsp thriving on the back of my tank that I'm fragging on request. Nice part about it is you don't have to add any more LR to your tank and you can glue the gsp in wherever you want it. I'm offering 2 x 3 in strips at $10 a pop. Here's an image of the colony Matt
  14. Q for DIYers

    What's the total volume you are looking to have in the sump? I would definitely use 1/4" acrylic. If you use weldon to glue your various baffles in, it should give you the rigidity you will need. If you're planning on building a sump that is triangle in shape here's my suggestions. I would...
