Only thing is that their success rate is very low. They do not fair well during transport/shipping.... I've had various lion fishes through out the years and have come to find out that the Fu Man Chus are not easy. Mike

BTW, my nitrate shows only about 40 ppm. And as a backup, I had my water tested by my trusted LFS to make sure and he had about the same result. That's why I am scratching my head over this no foam in the skimmer thing..... Mike

How, would a overflow box cause a flod? If the water level is set properly, where if the overflow stops picking up water, the remaining water in the sump would just fill up the tank.... I am too deciding whether to drill my acrylic tank or get an overflow box.

Has anyone used a D&D Marine's Titan Protein Skimmer? Looks like a good design, but don't know if the slanted collection cut will work good. Here is a link www.danddmarine.com
