I've been toying w/ making a GFO canister like that using a typical under-sink housing. What do you use inside the housing to hold the GFO? Even better would be a link :-)

Looks like a great golden angel. I used to have one back in the 90's but then it started picking on my clams to the point of killing them :-( It is a beautiful fish, but not worth the risk to me.
I tried EVERYTHING to catch him. Eventually I just took out the rock piece by piece...
Heat is definitely an issue and so is low dissolved oxygen.
It takes a lot of ice to keep the temp down (especially in Houston) but that may work. A limewood airstone (tiny bubbles) hooked up to a battery powered airpump or battery backup is also essential.

I think the Iwakis are some of the finest pumps made. When you go up to a pump w/ a cooling fan, it will always seem a LOT louder than the 30.

Have you been to Iriomote - there is excellent diving there, and it's close and frequented by Japanese divers. Supposed to be FANTASTIC diving and maybe you can collect some rock and softies there.
