  1. Honest opinions on my 12g Nano for the buildoff please:

That is pretty much it. The scallop kept 'swimming' into the fan, scaring it. I have since seperated them. Of course, no there is speculation on weather or not the duster is deviding :P
  2. I think my feather duster is reproducing!

wierd, as there was only one for a long long time. Have they been taking turns or something?
  3. I think my feather duster is reproducing!

    Here's a couple of pictures:
  4. do you like your tank?

My Nano is doing VERY well. It may be a little sparse as far as corals go, but considering how young it is, the tank is already supporting a wide veriety of life and is quite pretty in a minimalist sort of way. My only problem is my LFS knowing me to well, and keeps showing me odd stuff that...
  5. I think my feather duster is reproducing!

When I turned on the light this morning, I noticed something was wrong with the duster. I couldn't place it at first, as the duster is in the corner of the tank, and I thought I was seeing a reflection of the duster disk in the glass on the other side. problem was, I was seeing 2 disks in the...
  6. Honest opinions on my 12g Nano for the buildoff please:

Whatever it is, it started a range war with my featherduster. I'm gonna have to move the feather to the other side of the tank :p
  7. What to do now with my algae infested tank?

I had a TERRIBLE infestation of hair algea. I got a tip to use a trace-elements and phosphate sponge (It comes in a tub, you need to pour it into a mesh bag and put into a water flow area. The oputput from a protien skimmer or hanging filter would be fine). Change the insides of the bag and...

Ah... Thanks for the correction :)
  9. Honest opinions on my 12g Nano for the buildoff please:

Mind you, it is an electric scallop, not a flame scallop
  10. Honest opinions on my 12g Nano for the buildoff please:

Thanks! It is a far cry from done, and I have a feeling I will be doing a lot of swapping between it and my 55g, but I think I'll have something nice in the end 8)
  11. Honest opinions on my 12g Nano for the buildoff please:

Hmmm. Direct feedings might actually be easier in the 12 g. I might see what the LFS has to say about it. There are a couple of real entheusiests that work there.
  12. Honest opinions on my 12g Nano for the buildoff please:

I've been told such, which is why I will experiment with one in my main tank first. If I can get the hang of it, I'll move one into the nano 8) Edit: as an aside, I feed live phitoplankton in the main tank right now
  13. Calling all tanks!

Go easy on me, as this is a fairly new nano in progress :)
  14. Honest opinions on my 12g Nano for the buildoff please:

Good point, I'll probably just stick to softies then. And thanks, I love the sand too! My next aquisition should electrify my tank somewhat ;) I have a LFS that gets shipments of Electric Scallops this time of year :D
  15. Honest opinions on my 12g Nano for the buildoff please:

That's what I was planning. Only flow in the tank is the stock powerhead that came with the JBJ. I was thinking a couple of gobies or pigmies as far as fish are concerned.
