A Nassarius snail is a dentrivore / Scavanger only. They are not predatory like your crabs. I would assume he was only doing his job of eating detritus (in your case: decaying clam flesh from an already dead clam) when you caught him in the shell.
Your lighting stinks. I would bet your anemones are prolly already dead. Please for the sake of the coral don't add any coral or light-dependant animals until you improve your lighting
That is impressive that you have so much coralline growth in a 30" tall tank with only 440 watts of VHO. Any secrets on getting such phenomenal growth? (more actinic than white?)
Nice tank... looks like you got good oxygenated water flow. I am sure all your critters appreciate that. And they all appear healthy. Now just keep it up and put those high budget big volume tanks to the test
Thanks Brandon....
If you have been a great help in this and many more of your other posts which I read diligently. Hats off to you for doing what most thought could not be done, and then sharing your experiences with the rest of the world in the form of posts to reefs.org. I for one am...
It is it necessary to keep nanos lit 24-7 (at least on the refugeium) to prevent ph swings during the night?
Or better yet what is the impact of not doing the 24-7 thing on a nano as far as the tank's water chemistry goes?
Thanks,
Darren
