  1. Mystery power problem, Help!

I just reread your post. I'd say triple check the electrician's work. Then look for marginal connections between outlet strips and receptacles, and between plugs and outlet strips. Some outlet strips are really cheaply/shoddily made.
  2. Mystery power problem, Help!

I tracked down a similar problem to a loose connection at a breaker. Contractors had done some electrical work, and afterwards, the circuit would cycle on and off with load. The connection was tight enough to provide some current, but then it would heat up and the thermal expansion caused the...
  3. I tink I got flat worms

Watch out for flatworm eggs on the mille. I was just talking to a vendor this week that had been having good success with Povidone dips. One of the dipped corals started showing flatworm damage some time after the initial dipping. He re-dipped it and found another 30+ flatworms. Turns out that...
  4. Sebastapistes cyanostigma

    Wow... I need one! :)
  5. Cat eye polys

If you want the ones that look like Whodah's then be careful of these imported ones. They may very well look exactly like his, but without a pic, you are relying on someone else to make that determination. Best would be for you to see them for yourself, to decide if you like them :)
  6. Cat eye polys

Whodah's Cat Eye palys have the brightest green out of all the green eyed purple/pink palys I've seen. It's similar to the paly that people call Watermelon, but there is a lot of variation among Watermelon. With many of them being on the faint side. Cat Eye is like Watermelon, but with super...
  7. Randy's Two part calcium/alk solution

Mike, I just slowly pour the alk into my tank in front of a power head to let the clouds disperse. The Ca, I just dump into the sump all at one time. If you're dosing every day, I don't expect that you'll have much problem with rapid/big changes in tank chemistry.

  12. cool info on fragging LPS, LPS growth, and more...

Live rotifers. Yep, larger stuff too. I had some lords in the bottom of my frogfish larvae contraption.... don't ask :) But I will say those lords got fat and puffy, and put out a bunch more polyps :)
  13. cool info on fragging LPS, LPS growth, and more...

Mike, just feed them every day. Several times a day if you have the time. Been harvesting from my rotifer culture and my lords were super happy getting rotifers 3x a day :) I do the kill the flow and target feed thing. I was at Rommel's yesterday. He said it works well to take your micros out...

  15. New acquisition from the Bay Area Farmer's Market

Don't worry, those were the "junkier' ones of the rare and exotic stuff that he brought :) He told people, "You can have all the ones on that side for free. I don't want to take all that junk back home!" :D
