You guys should check out Jen's Blog...I've been following along so far and there's good info being presented there. How to frag various LPS, growth sequences of LPS, how to prep frags & corals for transport, etc. Check it out.

Neat, although Jen doesn't mention how much (if any) she feeds the corals. I've noticed my LPS tends to grow quite crazily when I'm motivated enough to do nightly feedings when sweepers come out, although none of mine is quite as pink as hers so maybe there's power in the pink!

Gresh, how do you recommend feeding using that big squeeze bottle?

Well Chip I'll tell you what I want to do, if I want to spot feed I'll screw the top off and suck out whatever I want (Rotis or Arti-pods) using a little syringe thingy they gave me when I got my wisdom teeth out, then suck up some tank water and target feed as needed.

If it's just a shotgun approach to feeding I simply squirt right into the tank :)

I'll try the 'squirt right into the tank' when I get home from work today.

I'll see what catches what and if I have to target feed after that, I will.

I'm gonna set up a basic 10 gallon for my rare lordhowensis frags so it's easier to target-feed them.

In a sunny room I should be able to get away with just a basic 28w PC light for lords, I would think.

Peace,

Chip

Mike, just feed them every day. Several times a day if you have the time. Been harvesting from my rotifer culture and my lords were super happy getting rotifers 3x a day :)

I do the kill the flow and target feed thing. I was at Rommel's yesterday. He said it works well to take your micros out of the tank and put them in a small container to feed. Of course that only works if you're not Jen, with a zillion pieces of micro :)

You feed lords Rotifeast? I thought they liked the bigger stuff.

Live rotifers. Yep, larger stuff too. I had some lords in the bottom of my frogfish larvae contraption.... don't ask :) But I will say those lords got fat and puffy, and put out a bunch more polyps :)

Well I always see my lords fat and puffy in the morning which makes me wonder if all the micro-planktonic life comes out at night and gets gobbled up.
