Can someone id this plant/algae? It is spreading from rock to rock, has leaves about 1 inch long, and roots(?) that are hairlike and attach it to the rocks.

The beginners guide stated that you should put foam rubber under the tank to balance the weight and prevent cracking the glass?

Where can I get the foam for under the tank? Been searching stores with no luck. How thick for a 40g? I feel so stupid :cry:
