  2. Garlic for ich?

not to argue with anyone, but from what I understand garlic increases the slime coat the fishes produce, thereby preventing the ich parasite from attaching. david
  3. Another Cycling Question

the critters you added will not cause an increase in nitrates or ammonia that you will notice...most inverts don't. Fishes will increase the nitrates, ammonia appreciably due to the waste that they produce. As always, be careful and patient in adding critters...too many too quickly will spell...
  4. lava rock

Used lava rock in my 55 without any problems....no diatoms, no cyano, no critter deaths. Takes a while for anything to grow on it, but it will populate. Got mine at a local stone mason for 25 cents a lb. david

the 4300K bulbs, will not be strong enough to keep most corals, clams, macro-algae, and other light loving critters. Now for the quialifier on the above statement. I used a 4300K Metal Arc MH bulb, standard tar ballast, 400w, and had great success with light loving corals, and a mertensii...

Try using garlic with each feeding. Had an outbreak of ich and started unsing garlic and no more ich. The fish loved it after getting used to it, and refused any foods later that were not soaked in garlic. I used Nature's Resource garlic tablets, crushed one tablet, soaked the foods in the...
  11. Getting rid of Ich

The magic potion that you request is non other than Garlic. Many hobbyists have used it, including myself, and had great results...my tank was free of ich after using it during an outbreak. Continue to feed it daily and you should see no return of the ich. Do a search on Garlic and determine...
