i have the aquac remora and have had no problems with it. maybe you should tweak the little screw in the skimmer that adjusts the spray? mine started skimming junk within the day i got it. it also depends on what you guys have in the tank, maybe there's just not that much nasty stuff?

Yes i am a newbie at this metal halide stuff but i was wondering if anyone can define some terms for me. what are: DE? HQI? Pulse start? Mogul sockets? thanks.

i'm using the maxijet that came with the skimmer, yah maybe it just takes time. it's always fun getting new toys from the ups guy. :D

messing with the screw didn't do much for the noise, but i did get it to quiet down a little bit by making sure the rubber seal on the collection cup made a tighter connection with the skimmer. i guess i'm just not use to the spraying noise, thanks for your help

it has a loud "psssst" kind of sound. about 3 or 4 times as loud as a fizzing soda pop. would i need to adjust the screw on the spray or something?

hi guys, well i just recieved my aquaC remora skimmer and it sounds really loud to me for some reason. most of the noise is coming from the spray. is it suppose to be that loud? or would it quiet down once the skimmer is broken in?

i don't know if this is possible but how about some fans on the top of the canopy? since hot air rises, most of the heat would be trapped at the top. you can then have some openings near the bottom of the canopy so cooler air can go in. this is based on cooling systems for computers. A lot...

i have the turboflotor in sump model and it was a pain in the a** to set up. either i didn't have anything to skim out of my tank or my settlings were wrong. when it did work, it was pretty awesome. but yah it takes awhile to get it to work correctly. i just ordered a remora pro to replace...

hehe yah 15 inches would be a little much on my small 55 gallon tank :D i'll read up on more DIY canopys for now. maybe i'll have to stick with my PC's for a little while longer until i come across a good deal or gather up enough courage to make my own. thanks for your input.
