  1. Ever get an infection from your fish tank?

Gloves make a lot of sense. I won't put my hand in tank or sump water without them. Combination of me worrying about myself and worrying I might poison the tank with soap or lotion residue.
  2. Quick Question about Southdown setup...

I would suggest that you turn the powerheads off to help let the sand settle. Also, I used a hang on back filter with just floss or foam to help clear the water. My tank was pretty clear in 3 or 4 days. Just my 2 cents.
  3. Good or BAd

I have a 29 gal also and did a lot of research on this. I ended up buying an AquaC Remora which I like. It is rated for tanks up to 75 gal, but it is not too much for the 29. If I didn't want to spend the money for the Remora, I would go with a CPR BakPak which is about $50-60 cheaper but...

  6. 29 Gallon, DSB or NOT?

Hi, I am setting up a 29 gallon reef with 3x55wt PCs, HOB skimmer (no sump) and I am not sure whether or not to go with a deep sand bed (4"). From what I have been reading, on a tank this size it might not really be effective. But, it is not really clear. The other negative is that in a tank...
