I read in another post that a skimmer should be used 24/7 while the tank is being cycled. My LFS told me not to use it within the first 30 days. Any thoughts on the subject?

The lights are 32 w dual sunpac 6700/10000k daylight and 32w dual sunpac actinic 420/460nm. Does that make any difference? Or do I still need something bigger?
