I would try doing some water changes with RO/DI. Then use RO/DI exclusively for top off and future changes. This is a must for a reef tank maintanance. Steve

I recommend getting the reef books first and reading them cover to cover before you even think about buying anything else or posting well documented questions over and over. Then if you think you still want a reef, save up a few grand and have fun. Steve

Well, how small are we talking. I would think a 5lb well cure peice of rock may not pose much of a problem. But - If there is any significant dieoff on the rock even a small peice could eaisily over burden a new system and cause a nutrient spike. I would recommend that you cure any new rock...
