Hey Guys,

***Pix added***
page 2

Got a fluval edge tank for my office.
got it up and running with a few zoas etc.
have 1 bangaii cardinal in it right now.

put a mini jet powerhead in there for some extra flow.

The stock lights sucked (known fact)
and I was gifted the nanocustoms fluval Led's!
This is one baller light! whoa!

about to put a reefkeeper on it to control everything
want a ALC to slowly dim the lights, this is going to
be one expensive tiny tank.

Spoke with Pico D at the swap, the queen of overkill.
No mp10 yet! but this tank is looking awesome.
Still getting used to it. its little quirks like
not putting your hand or overflow!

Ill have pix via Iphone really soon.

what should I put in there?
suggestions, opinions, Let me know!
Im super excited.

Thanx
-Joe

Hey Wingo,
uses 2 channels.
1 and 3rd strip- 1 channel
middle - 1 channel.
external dimming is on the ballast on a slider.
2 of them. 1 for each channel.

also just found this out.
theres a 3 channel switch.
on- manual override
off
on- programmed.
this is cool because on -programmed is based on my reefkeeper settings.
i flip it to on manual to show off, and mess with it on the fly.

To compliment all your other high end stuff for this little tank, you can call your light complete only until you add a programmable RGB to it. :D:D:D

LOL- It is very easy to go out of budget with this tiny tank. I could not afford the nanocustoms LED mod.

What I did was replace the stock halogen bulbs with MR 16s. Then I bought 2 ft of Day white SME LEDs and 2 ft of blue SME leds. I cut the white and blue strips into 3 equal pieces and bought a strip of wood from home depot which I cut into a frame for around the opening of the tank. I attached the strips to this frame I made.

The entire lighting setup cost me about $120. Still a lot but I enjoyed doing it on my own. The most expensive piece was the power transofrmers which cost about $36 each. I needed two of these so I can control the white and blue separately.

This video shows the set up of the light. I will try to take some pics later and post them.

Edge.

I did not read this until now, I could have saved you some money on your ribbon LEDs and the transformer!!!
