55g+ Water Barrel for storing H20

Hi Folks,
I need one of those huge 55g+ water barrels for a project at the H.S.

We are building an organic farm (the students will create pamphlets and give mini workshops on healthy eating, agriculture and the benefits of knowing more about what we put into our bodies, local and sustainable produce and then give boxes of organic produce away for free!) and this section of the school does not have an installed water connection.

To water our plants we usually carry those 5g water cooler jugs back and forth from the custodial 'slop sink' inside of the building all the way to the garden.

So, we want to build a rain catcher/water storage tank in the garden so, we can have a steady and 'sustainable' supply (at least it will reduce the backbreaking and inefficient' labor).


If you have one for free, or for a very reasonable price please let me know.

We're located in Newark, NJ.
I don't think it will fit in my car, if I have to come and pick it up from you...but I may be able to swindle a teacher with a truck or somesuch into giving me a ride.

Roller wheels not a good idea. I got a rubbermaid brute or something 45 gal can and one morning half of it leaked all over my kitchen.

Cool, thanks for the info folks.

So, in summary:
Some trash can lines coupled with the wheel base = bad idea
Brute trash cans coupled with wheel base, however= good idea
55g+ drums = more of a headache (to drill/fit a water flow outlet, grate to capture debris, pump to mix) considering brute trash cans work without that extra hassle

and any combination of the list above, can be found on CL for a decent price.

That's the one I was referring to, not the one rebelson posted that has the wheel attachment separately.
