Where can I find large shipping boxes?

I'm trying to ship my 3ft long fixture and I don't have the slightest idea where to get a box big enough for this. Any suggestions?

Also, is it allowed to make boxes? I was thinking I could just make a big boxes by putting together a bunch of smaller boxes

fedex store or similar type store. the post office may have one that size, mine has a bunch on display.

As long as it is secure, it can be shipped

Some Hertz Rent a Truck has big boxes for sale.

I would have UPS or Fedex package it. This way if something should happen to it in transit it is on them.

I just shipped a 48" Coralife. Fedex wanted $150 to package it and ship it to Missouri.

I went to an appliance store, asked them for a box, boxed it and sent it via USPS for $72.00, buyer paid the shipping.

usps is always cheaper in my experience but you can check.
