Look at how aggressive when he is hungry. But the thing is he is always hungry. Everytime I pass by, he almost want to break the tank to get to my food so I feed him. Next time I pass by he does the same again and I does my part too. It's like 6 times a day non stop.

He can float(swim) vertically waiting for food too besides holding on to the side of the tank.

I have a rock island for him. He does not craw that high unless I am teasing him with food which you don't see in the picture.

He's cute - my friend has a turtle that she lets run around her apartment. He has his little corner with water and everything, but he can come and go as he pleases. She said they need lots of room to roam and lots of sunshine to keep the shell healthy.

I used to have an aligator snapper turtle baby that I found in a parking lot upstate in the middle of the winter. I kept him in my apartment on a varied diet of live foods until the summer came. I set him free at the turle pond at Alley Pond park. I've been waiting to here about some jogger's poodle getting eaten and draged into the water. MUWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

He did the same thing, anytime you came near the tank he tried to bite. He was a mean bugger. :)

My red ear does the exact same thing....but she always climbs into the light, which is curved, so she can't get out of the tank....by the way, your red ear is a female....be prepared for her to keep on growing. Mine was a nickel sized Flushing baby 6 years ago...now she's a foot from nose tip to tail tip.....and still growing!

Yes, that one sure will grow. I also had a few of these back in the day. The smell and size got outta control. They live in a nice pond now on Long Island!

Once again, refugium with lots of plants and dsb. Of course, these cannot be in the same tank where the turlte is housed. You see the two tank arrangement and the u-tube in the pic? The plants filled refugium and 2 feet above water in 3 months times while I continuous use feed the plant to my birds. The cichlids love them too.
