engine fan on after car is off

anyone know if its normal for engine fan to stay on over 15 minutes even after the ignition is turn off?

yes it can. but once motor is cooled down i would check the coolant level

With the cold weather that we have now you shouldn't have the fan running that long after being shut down...

Depending on the type of car you should be able to go into the fuse box and pull the fuse. Just make sure you plug the fuse back in next time you drive. If you can't find the fuse disconnect the + battery terminal..

Pull the ac clutch relay see if it goes off

Nope
check it and if it stops it's a 13 buck relay don't need a mechanic then

it sounds like a stuck relay or coolant censor. unplug the censor and see if it stops, if not locate and switch relay with another one in the relay box. i would check relay first.

my guess would be a stuck relay as edd mention. after i jumped it and drove it around for testing. everything seems to be working fine.
however, i am keeping a quick jump start charger in my trunk to be safe.

btw: not sure if this has anything to do with this, but the car was left not driven for a week before this happen.

If you ever need a cheap mechanic go to Issac on college point. Been going to him for years. Dependable work and low price. Or ET auto also in college point. Better for body work than issac but good when you need major work.
