This has gone on for years but never really used seems like now it may be a reality and Wow it was long overdue. Was it a home run or did it hit the pole. Did the foot hit the bag before the catch. Did the catcher drop the ball and then recover?
All of these questions and more will be answered Story Here

I think it is a bit rediculous, not a big fan of it, especially in the middle of a season. Can anyone one say calvinball? Part of the art of baseball is the art of fooling an umpire, and how umpires interact with in the game, and I feel that this will be detrimental for the way baseball is played. What is going to happen, are they going to set up a monitor in the umpire tunnel and have the cloak then them come back out, with a mike and say the ruling on the field stands.

Then if they start overthrowing it, they are going to start awarding bases, and lets face it umpires can't even tell when someone is getting thrown at how are they going to know where to stick a runner if it really wasn't a homer.

I don't think it is a good idea when it comes to balls and strikes but on certain things I feel it is needed. I don't know if anyone saw the yankee game last week where Giambi "struck out" when he obviously checked his swing and I mean OBVIOUSLY. At the time the yankees were down by one with the bases loaded, 2 outs in the 8th. That horrible call by the ump cost the yankees their chance at winning the game. Calls like this seem to be becoming more and more common, I understand the human factor is part of the game but umps missing a call a little league ump should be able to make is just unacceptable.
