I'm glad Willie is gone as well. (he was a yankee at heart anyway never liked him) Hope they try to bring Bobby V back. The yankees era is over now Wang is gone that was the final nail in the coffin. Also glad Rick Peterson is gone he was all talk he promised to fix Zambrano we all know how that work out. We would have has Kazmir if it wasn't for peterson telling them he could fix zambrano in 30 seconds. They should have fired Randolph last year after the colapase.

Wow! I just heard this morning....
As badly mishandled as it was Getting Fired at 12am by Minaya who last month said Willie is safe and after an actual win and on top of that the beggining of an away series.
But Willie wasn't Ready, Great player, good assistant but not Manager Material...
The buzz is Omar should be fired for all his Bad acquisitions of old players I only see one player he got that didn't have at least 2 -3 more years left in him and the closest match is Pedro. The way it looked for him he got off the plane and got hurt.
Wagner had 38 saves before leaving Philly, he has a bad outing and he's old if we are not New yorkers I don't what we are.
Omar is not the worst thing that happened to the mets he has made some good acquisitions, Made some mistakes but what Gm doesn't. In the long run as messed up as he was in that conference today It all falls on the organization and if some feathers ain't ruffled then things stay the same.
I'm A Yankee man but I am also a New yorker and I will never put the mets down and the Day they win another World Series, all of us as New Yorkers Deep down will cheer for them.

here is my breakdown as i see it. i do not see any problem at all that he was fired. these are the reasons why:
1- last years collapse was a killer
2- his production this year
3- its a well known fact that in the club house there are 2 factions. he lost his lockeroom presence with the latin players.
4- he tried to bring a winning philosphy that he learned from the yankee organization to team of people that were not interested in being that way. its called professionalism. that was not wanted
5- to many chiefs no indians
6- his players didnt play for him.
7- the latin players wanted him out.
8- the assitant gm has been a known enemy of him and undercut him. he will soon do the same thing to omar.

so now lets see through all of the smoke screen here for what its worth:

the media-- they are all pissed off because it was announced at 12pm pdt. that makes it 3am our time. to late to hit the press so the press on the west coast got it before them. thats all this is about. a lot of people wanted him out. that is no secret here. he pissed off almost everyone with that racist crap comment that he made that was unfounded.
managers get fired all the time. so what if he got fired on the west coast. whats the difference if he was fired there or here? none. either way he still had to fired. so lets see how the mets will do with a latin coach. what all of a suddent the $20 mil delgado will find his bat? yeah right

Yankees have 26 rings and they are in the playoffs every year. No other team in professional sports has won that many championships.

Boston has what 3 or 4? They have quite a bit of catching up to do
