This three part series on Discovery HD was the best I've seen on NASA missions in like forever!Never before seen footage of all the missions from Mercury to Gemini to Apollo and the space shuttle missions.If you're into this type of stuff,Dvr it or buy the DVD.

Def an awesome showing!!! I love discovery they do a great job with most of what they do. And its def nice to see stuff in hd too!! Some great shots that def makes me happy I upgraded.

And not with those crappy cables they give you,I'm talking about the Monster HDMI cables.Great picture on my Plasma and I use my Home theatre to get that cool rumbling from the take off.Ron Howard is doing a film Monday night on the Moon on Discovery HD.

Monster cables are really no better than the $20 hdmi cables you pick up anywhere else.

Hey Guys,
I went to the premier screening of this series sponsored by the discovery channel and held at the Natural History Museum. Everyone who attended received this huge coffee table book entitled "America in Space: Nasa's first fifty years". It's a nice book but I really don't have room for it. If anyone is really interested I'll give you the book. Even though it says $50 on the back it's worthless to me. If I was smart enough to get Neil Armstrong or Micheal Collins to sign the book it would be a different story.

Great series. I can't believe its been 50 yrs. Damn, I'm old too. I remember gathering around a tiny B & W television when Armstrong walked on the moon. Every one of us wanted to be an astronaut back then. I'd still risk it all for the chance to do it.

There are people who said it was faked but after watching this,how can you doubt it now?When your back is against the wall to win the Space race,you'll come up with something to make it happen.They want to go back to the Moon and eventually Mars as well.

I never once believed it was staged. I followed the space program from a very young age. I was enthralled by it. I got my 11 y/o nephew to watch the first episode with me. He even called me to remind me to watch the second and third episodes. It's great when the youth become interested in these missions. My own kids didn't even show interest in it :sad2:

Tonights show was an amazing experience. I lived the first Apollo lunar landing when I was 10 y/o. I remember it all like it was yesterday.

It was good but the 3 part series went deeper into the missions.

I thought this was an excellent series. I was a little worried that it would be boring - I was wrong.

Those astronauts were some pretty fearless guys! The photography/movies and interviews were great. Kudos!

Yeah, I caught that. It wasn't Armstrong though. It was a later mission (lunar landing as well) but I forgot which two astronauts recited scripture (old testament). Doesn't matter. The lawsuit was frivolous AND ridiculous. There WAS a beginning........somewhere, sometime.
