Manny will not be a Yankee next year. I don't think there is anyway Cashman or Steinbrenner would bring him in even if it's to block another team from getting him.

You never know Tangs, Cashman may not be around next year and even with junior talking like the Yanks have a different approach about things you just never know. Besides, with "Manny being Manny" he is probably doing this Yankee slick talk just to piss off Boston and may not have any intentions of coming to NY.

Good point. But the last thing the Yankees need is an off field distraction. So I have to believe he won't be a Yankees. And there is no way the Yankees give him 20 million a year. I know they pay well but that's just obsene. I really hope they don't even entertain signing him.

Honestly I hope my Yanks miss the playoffs. Gives them an excuse to rebuild especially now since many people who are Yanks fans and as well as media have written the Yanks off. I think they made a smart move with Melky, never liked hom from the beginning. I think they missed out on Aaron Rowland. Getting Nady was smart especially since he has been healthy. I would much rather see them miss the playoffs and go after young quality pitchers than make the playoffs loss the first round, maybe the second because they are due to win the first round, and keep the same squad they have now. Moose surprised us all, Andy has been pretty solid but Ian, Phil, Darell. They are all a few years out from MLB level, Yes I said Hughes. The Yanks had probably one of the best farm systems years ago until the organization got distracted by shiny objects and went after big ticket guys and sent alot of those guys in deals. I hope that the son's mentallity with the ball club is a good one and I think we saw signs of that with the A-Rod and Johan dealings. People might hate how the Johan deal went down, but they basically said no the Twins and I loved it. Lets get some scrappers out there. Bring me back the Mattinleys, Giarardis, ONeils, Tito's, Bernie's etc. Throw pinstripes on those guys, give them a mid level salary and let them play ball. Get guys like that and the fans and media should shut their mouths because throwning nearly 200 million dollars on the field did jack. When the Yanks were scrappers they won and I always felt that the past 5 teams they put on the field were useless.

On another note, the US Women soccer won gold today.

US Womens BBall program is going to play for the gold.

US Softball lost to Japan 3-1 in the gold medal game.

I'm shocked the US softball team lost. But, like they say, it's hard to beat a team 3 times in a tournament.

I hope the Yankees go back to the late 90's strategy, when some of the key guys on the team was from the Yankees farm system (Jeter, Pettitte, Rivera, Posada, Bernie) and the players they signed were good ball players and not superstars (O'Neill, Brosius, Knoblauch, Tino, Hayes, etc...) I'd like to see them sign Sabathia and then fill in the pieces with hard nose players, not guys who want $20 million a year.

It would be nice to have him but I think he might stick with the Brewers. I dont think he would be able to handle NY media. Not that it should matter. What we should do is raid the Rays, Marlins and Twinkies farm systems.

yankees can pay $20mil a year expecially if theyre paying arod $25mil mannys #'s are exactly the same as arods with the exception of a few homers. but it would be a really bad signing cus the OF defense would get hit hard. there are no gold glovers in that OF. they need to go spend that $$$ on pitching instead of just relying heavily on young kids. giambi is off the books after the year so look for them to try to sign Teixeira. i doubt cashman will be around after the year the team is having. i would be shocked if he was.

You can't blame everything on Cashman. Hank Steinbrenner came out and said the Twins wanted too much. Manny's defense is the difference between A-rod and Manny. That difference is A-Rod can play defense.

I'd like Teixeira but I think his price tag will be enormous (Scott Boras represents him) and I think the Yanks will get Sabathia as Milwaukee doesn't spend that much money. Over the next 2 years, over $100 million comes off their payroll. It's time to rebuild and lets the kids go through their growing pains. And for gods sake get rid of Melky and Cano!!!

I would like a Texiera addition, good young kid, good bat and not to bad at the bag. Who's a free agent at 2nd this offseason. Kinsler would be a real nice fit if he was available. I wonder what it would take to get Mark Price from Tampa.

I like Texeira too, and I think the Yanks will sign him. Mussina will probably come back at a discounted rate, but it's time to let Giambi and Abreu go, even though I'm a big fan of Abreu. Let go of the big salaries and let the kids play like Gardner and Christian. I would love Kinsler too, but good luck getting him from Texas after the year he had.

U mean Dave Price lol no way the Yanks are getting him. Forget Kinsler too. Besides I think Cano is better then him he just had an off year. Usually happens to a kid after he signs a huge deal before the season. Mariano is going to be 1 more year older and that bullpen needs major revamping.

Yes Dave Price, not some 50 year old who can probably still knock down the trey's. Past two three years, I have been more excited to see how the offseason shapes up rather than whether or not they will make the wildcard.

I hate Cano's approach to the game. A pitcher could walk 3 batters in a row and Cano will get up there and swing at the first pitch anywhere near the plate and either pop out or hit into a double play. He just seems like he doesn't give a sh!t at all.

I think our holes are the entire outfield if you think about it, 2nd and 1st. I would rather see some pitching come on board then a centerfielder.

And I dont care what the IOC says I still think those girls are 4 and a half years old.

It took them 3 hours to decide she was "16." Obviously they didn't dig too hard. It took little league months to find out Danny Almonte was really 15. If the IOC looks hard, they'll find out this girl is only 12 or 13.

It would be great if Boston missed the playoffs.

It was ridiculous. I heard Marta Kyroli make a statement that one girl still had her baby teeth and I chalked it up to well thats Bela and Marta surprise surprise. Then I saw the uneven bars competition and I was like oh my god this girl just did a quarter tuck reverse layout while still in her stroller. Many chinese let alone asians look young to begin with but there is a visual line and they are well below that line. Was I the only one that noticed the box of Huggies pull-ups next to the talc powder and tape?

Anyway, enough with the Yanks, the Knicks are in far worst shape.
