It just takes patience and understanding. We of course still at times get on each other's nerves but that is just life. The good times are much better and last much longer than any small bad times.

You just hear a lot of people saying "oh when you get married forget about it", it makes you kinda wonder if marriage = relationship death. If things were fine before, why does marriage mean the end of the world??

Btw my mom and dad have been married for 25 years going on 26 next May

:lol: My wife does too. I was over a friends house recently and she called me there to tell me to turn on the TV to watch the Hooters special. If that's not :inlove: I don't know what is. My friend was bowled over :shhh:

I think that is usually divorced people or people who have a hard time staying in a relationship.
I had plenty of opportunities to cheat on my wife. I built the NY Playboy Club, Penthouse Magazine, Hustler Magazine and too many night clubs to count. My wife often came to visit me on the job and sometimes we went out with the girls to eat.
She thought I was very lucky to be around such beautiful girls. We have no jealousy in our relationship. Imagine if she was the jealous type? It's not like a Playboy centerfold would go out with me anyway but many wifes would be very upset even at the thought that their husband was working there.

Now that I am retired I also want to do a few things that New Yorker's rarely do like visit the Statue of Liberty, I went there last in 2nd grade but I have seen it almost every day from shore we do pass it almost every year by boat. Ellis Island where our Grandparents first landed America 100 years ago and being a Veteran I am embarassed I never visited the Aircraft Carrier Intrepid even though I worked right next to it for a while.
This stuff is cheap and right near home so we may as well take advantage of it like the tourists do.

Congratulations to you both!! I hear ya on the "What do I get her/him this year?", hubby and I celebrated our 35th. this past August. I came up with the idea of "no more gifts" hence no more stress. We will go to dinner a movie/theater/show or something like that. And on b/days the b/day person choses.
Hubby also does not share the love of the hobby, but he does enjoy the beauty of the corals & fish so in my case it is a beautifull thing. I maintain them, and he pays for them.lol

when i was a kid my father was good friends with the captain of the circle line and he use to let my siblings and i captain the ship.ill never forget that
