Can anyone suggest a reptile that can be handled and is a vegetarian? I'm not interested in iguanas and would prefer to avoid live foods (the wife has insisted that there will be no crickets or fruit flies allowed in the house).

Some tortoises ( many need some meat in their diet though so research first but Russians are good starters ) and uromastyxs are the only ones I can think of off hand that are pure vegetarians and can be handled.

I love snakes, I hope you don't mind me posting a picture of my baby.

I don't know if anyone else gets attached to their reptiles but I do and tonight I had to give away mine. I advertised it on another reptile forum and the guy came from PA. to get it. I'm really bummed about it but on the other hand I'm really happy about it because the reason I had to give it up is because I just got custody of my 11 year old son and there is no way to safely keep a copperhead with an 11 year old child. So I'm going to have to wait a few years before I can get another one but I definitely will in a few years.
