I just went this Wednesday. Conditions were fair. Patches of ice everywhere. Not fun when you're a boarder. :irked: But overall, when you're almost the only one on the trail on every run, it's a field day out there! :splitspin

I've skiied Hunter probably 100 times. The only days I'd recommend going is a Tues., Wed., or Thurs. The weekends there and even Mon. & Fri. are a nightmare. The lift lines are so damn long. Hunter West in the afternoon is the place to go. Sun is shining and hopefully the lines are a bit shorter since there's only one lift there, so peeps avoid it a bit more.

Just because Hunter is a smaller hill than Whiteface (I've skiied both also), that doesn't mean less caution is necessary. Caution needs to be exercised at a small hill like Sterling Forest too. An out of control skiier can hit a tree anywhere.

Reckless skiing can be as dangerous as reckless driving. Somebody or somebodies can be seriously hurt or killed on the slopes because of an out of control skiier. I've witnessed it happen.
