Cell Phone Questions

Here we go:

• Has anyone successfully gotten out of contract w/o fees? I have no service at my house with verizon, I think that should qualify?
• Can someone give me a true monthly cost of having two Iphones on the same plan? I want to know what you pay a month; taxes and all that other BS.
• Has anyone purchased the Instinct from Sprint? If so how is it?

NO service from Verizon? Hmm usually they are the best in ny area.. Well, you can try telling them that you are leaving the country and see if they can do anything for you.
As for the iphone, I think you have to add the $30 data plan on top of ur calling plan. that's per line.

I have the instinct from sprint I like it and also have a blackberry from Verizon they both don't work at home and I'm in chester.I Also tried to get out of a contract and I could not.I would still try if I were you.GOOD LUCK

i have the instinct since launch i have exchanged it 2x because of bugs and slow software. i should have gone with the iphone

Why would I have to say that if they can't provide me service. Don't get me wrong, I love verizon. I would love to get the blackberry storm. But if I don't have service at the house then what's the point. Plus I find myself needing to take calls that are work related at the house. I used to be able to use the excuse,"don't call me I have no service" but I can't anymore.

Not sure where in Chester you are but I have no service from the firehouse on Lakes Rd all the way up the top of old tuxedo rd. The other way I don't have service almost the whole Lent of Laroe, I pretty much have to wait till King's Highway for solid service. There have been numerous times where I've pulled over at Bacci's to finish a conversation, knowing that as soon as I pass the firehouse it's a dropped call.

I bought the instinct, it sux. I returned it 3 weeks after I bought it.

The only thing good about sprint is their plans. They have cr@p customer/tech assistance. I just got the new nextel blackberry curve and it works ok.

I also harbor a grudge because I am an original Nextel customer from 1996 and since sprint took over nextel they have treated us nextel customers like the dog you keep outside and nobody plays with while the sprint customers get all the benifits.

First they going ask you how long had you had your sevice?? If is less than their trail period, they will let you cancel it without any problem.. But if you had it past the trial period then they going use that point to hold against you, saying if there's no service there, why you didn't cancel it.. I did it for my customer before, saying customer have to leave the country in emergency. and they glady understand and cancel it. As long as you are not porting the number over to other carrier.. But if you are, then they know you are bsing them...
Usually when you say there's no service in that area. Their answer is they will send a tech to check it out the area, usually they either said the tower is down or there's nothing wrong.. Or sometime they just give you some extra mins.. Or sometime if you got a nice one, they will credit the month of service..

I broke my contract with sprint but that was with alot of calling and complaining. I also filed complaints with the FCC because I use the phone for the Fire Dept and it left me "At risk" as I put it.


The storm is getting bad reviews, and so are pretty much every other wanna be Iphone out there. If you want an iphone then get an iphone. don't play around with substitutes.

Usually when you say there's no service in that area. Their answer is they will send a tech to check it out the area, usually they either said the tower is down or there's nothing wrong..

Like I said it just wasn't really a concern before. I hope verizon does fix the problem, I like verizon and have been with them since the Bell Atlantic days. It's just that I need the phone for work and other carriers can provide service. I'll call them in the morning and see what's up.

Good luck with it.. don't call on Monday.. Customer service on Monday usually suck.. Call on tuesday.. that's how they give answer to all their customer, they are working on it.. I know.. cuz i help lots of customer call they give me a bs answer.. But one a while you get a nice rep. And since u did complain, and have them to take a look at the log.. Tell them what's the point of me paying for the service when I can't use it at all..

As for Nextel, is not the same since they merge.... They don't care about nextel anymore.. all they care about is Sprint.. You don't see they have any new phone coming out for the nextel.. Only sprint.. Check out the hybrid phone.. they are all garbage.. sorry to say that...

There was a recent change to all wireless carriers...the later you are in the contract the termination fee is reduced. Call them to inquire, that's the best bet.

Just locked myself with 2yr of TMobile, 2 BB Curves and Behold. Behold is considered a cheaper version of the Iphone using TMobile's new 3G network...took the Curve from TM because of the built-in Wifi which you can connect anywhere with wifi service if TM data service is not strong...yeah I sound like a salesperson but after weeks of research, that's what happens.

oh year TM has promo for free companion tickets before 12/24!

Steven, I've been using Verizon for about 8 years now. I NEVER got service at my house. About 10 months ago, suddenly I started getting one bar if I was upstairs. Sometimes the one bar would go to two, and sometimes (still) I lose all service.

It did get better though. I JUST (this past week actually) extended my service. I got four new phones. One Voyager Titanium (nice touch phone), one Blackberry Curve, and two cheap 5500's.

Frank lives just about 3/4 mile from me. Coming from my house, make the left onto Laroe and he's just ahead on the right. No exact address online bro

I get zero signal when I turn onto Laroe from Lakes.....about 1/3 of the way down the hill. Surprisingly it gets better at the turn onto my road.

Hope that gives you a little better 'signal understanding' on this end of Chester.

Actually you should just keep calling them everyday about it. Eventually when you waste enough of their customer service resources they'll let you out of the contract and basically ban you from verizon for life.

I have the g1 and am very happy with it . It has lots of FREE applications and works fine .The g3 network works 85% of the time the other 15% it runs on edge service (slow) but doesnt drop calls . I am in queens and the bronx though when I go upstat it works till monticelo and then its hit and miss while family members with verizon hardly miss service even up to Roscoe

Sorry, I haven't been following up on this thread, but YES on the $30 data plan for the BEHOLD othewise it's just a a cool media phone (5.0 megapixels and mp3 player). Service has been pretty good where I live and work. Surprisingly worked really well in Florida (20minutes away from Orlando) during my trip.

All equipment was actually free cuz I didn't go straight to TMobile or its store...I went to an outside-authorized dealer which usually gets you better deals.
