HD Cable without a box?

I just got a really nice HD TV, but do not have a box. My building is wired for cable and my TV works without the box. Is it possible to get the HD signal without the box?

On a side note, anyone notice how absolutely rediculous the price of services is from the cable companies? No wonder the Knicks can afford to pay all those losers on their roster!!

If i got the HD TV, my total bill would cost $140 a month for phone (which I dont want, but was forced to get, internet and cable (150 channels)

I doubt that you could get Hd without getting a Hd signal.

It depends on your HDTV. If it has an HD Tuner in it (most do these days) you can hook it right up to the TV and you will get Broadcast HD. (ie. you will get CW11 when it broadcasts HD Shows.)

If your building is wired for cable, check it they offer the HD Channels. You may be able to get basic cable HD which includes TNT HD, TBS HD, etc.

If the TV has a built in digital tuner all you'll need is an OTA antenna and you should get all the local channels in HD, no cable required.
