CPU issues

Finding my CPU shutting down itself naturallyto a overheating problem,now... can the GPU fans not working contribute to the shut down?I only thought it only applied to the CPU core which is fine.I blasted out all the dirt from the core fan and fins.Leaving it open and adding a clip on lowers the temps but can't afford new GPU heat sinks which are already hard to remove.Any input?

Could be the CPU fan is caked up and can't cool as much as it used to. Maybe you can just unscrew the fan and change that?

The GPU won't cause a shutdown, only the CPU has access to power controls, unless it is a laptop.

If you know the processor and motherboard types, go to the manufacturers site and download the drivers for the power controls. That will adjust CPU throttling and fans based on what you are doing.

What up Zany! Are you sure about it being a heat issue Check the temp through the Bios and what the settings are there?

the gpu can indirectly cause the cpu to overheat n cause the shutdown. gpu can actually generate more heat than cpu.
if u can't cool your gpu, i suggest u get another card.
u can check if heat is really the factor on the cpu shutting down by going into its bios n check on its temp. it may be the settings.

I was thinking about going in and look at the settings and maybe tweak it a bit but speedfan is saying it's ruining a bit hot.

For the time being you can keep your computer case open, and if that doesn't help that much get a fan you have lying around the house and blow into said open case.

Never had Quiet Cool installed on my Bios.It controls the power and increases it as needed.I got it from the ASUS website.Seems worth a try cause the less power it needs,the less heat it'll produce I assume.Should of downloaded it from the start but still need new video cards.Both fans failed.
