some advise on puppys health

my little pup is pretty sick.he has had the runs now for 4 days.he cant hold it in its just coming out.i tried some rice in his food and it is not working.he is now crated in his pen for all that time and i feel horrible.i did get him his shots.i feed him iaams puppy now since i got him and i havent changed his diet.what could possibly be.and what can i do to get him better.i was thinking of maybe some dry toast just so he he has something in his belly cause he is not eating.i am giving him lots of water so he does not dehydrate.any ideas.i will be taking him to the vet tomorrow.

I would bring him to the vet ASAP. Instead of water I would use pedialyte. Your dog can die from the runs.

i called the vet.he said tomorrow is the only opening he had.that was yesterday.he is closed today

What an a$$ :irked: Try another vet but definitely use pedialyte in the meantime. At least mix it with the water.

he is still active.when i bring him out he starts jumping around.i just feel bad.i need to give him 2 baths a day cause everytime i come back in the room he is in he goes and its all over his fur.

Yeah the same thing happened to my dog when he was a puppy, I just made sure he was still eating and drinking. The vet will just give some stool hardener if he/she doesn't find parasites in the stool. Oh btw when you do go to the vet bring a sample. If you can as fresh as possible.

All good advice above.. How old is your pup again? Giving you advice on what to do other then rice and ground beef could be dangerous. Don't know your dogs age or weight and I am NOT a Vet. But plain boiled rice and cooked ground beef will not hurt him. Reach out to Dr.Cooper I believe he is a vet.

And I would DEFINITELY look for another vet. Your dog's vet sucks big time...................................................................

whoop didn't read that he wasn't eating anymore. Should probably get him to a vet as soon as possible, could potentially have gotten parasites or something. See if you could try what Awibrandy said and give him some cooked rice with ground beef.

Dude, VETERINARY EMERGENCY CENTERS are open 24 hours a day. Diarrhea can be nothing, but it can also be serious and end up killing.

As for Duke, he is out in suffolk county. You can go to Veterinary Medical Center is Islip, LIVS in Plainview (not recommend) or The Center for Specialized Veterinary Care in Westbury (best of 3 on LI)

We have a 24 hour hospital in forest hills queens and west side!
AMC back in the day was the best, sadly not for the past few years!
