Kill in April PM me I am 1 town away I will meet up at a local lake with u and pass on anyting I know about fishing and the area since your new here. The Hackensack is a big river gets wide in Riveredge and goes all the way to the Atlantic if u know where the court house is in Hackensack across the street behind the Costco on River Road there is an observation area with benches overlooking the river its nice ive seen giys fishing, crabbing and bird watching here in the past. Ive taken my cuzzins boat from Teaneck all the way out to the Statue of Liberty using the river. Untill then if u got questions about the area like where stuff is just hit me up if i can help i will.

Really I've been to the Courthouse already! I never saw it, I even drove past the Costco to go the the bbq place around there. Man I wonder how I missed it. Too bad the water there is still polluted, don't think I can get any free fish feed from there.

Yeah for fun only People do eat fish and stuff from the river but not anyone I know. I actually ate Cubby's tonight sounds like u found 1 good resturant already. I live three blocks from there If u continue past the bbq spot a mile or so u will see the White castle on your right 100 yards past that is the little lake that i described above its stocked by the state. It has bass, trout pirch, carp and catfish

Oh Snap! theres a white castle in Hackensack? I looked on the website and said it was only sold frozen in Jersey (No Store Locations).
Or is that White Manna? I've been there too. Good but takes too long to cook their burgers.

If u are looking for freshwater like a lake (Indian Lake) across the GW onto rt. 46 in Little Ferry NJ. U wont catch any trophie fish here but it is stocked by the state and u will catch fish. If looking for a river in walking distance of this is the Hackensack River the water is brackish hosting some very large salt water fish a guy caught a monster striped bass off the shore last year check the link im adding I lived here my whole life and even I was suprised. This is about 25 minute ride from the Bx and the bus stop is right there its the 161 or the 168 I think

Froggie....
Try Central Park. Decent bass fishing there in the Spring.

I'm going to start fishing freshwater in about 2 weeks. I normally do well in the local lakes. I only get to fish freshwater for a few weeks, then the saltwater scene starts to happen.

thanks. I've heard about people fishing in Central Park, even saw an episode of a fishing program on cable of a guy renting a boat and getting few bites underneath the bridge of the lake. Do you fish at the Lake or the Meer? I'm thinking of trying it out this Saturday... maybe I'll see you there. Shoot me a PM if you ever plan on going.

Is the water at this lake polluted also or will i be able to turn the catches into fish feed?

Man.....I'm getting tired of NY. Last season, it seemed that the deer were few and far between once the snow hit the ground. Thank God we start planting the food plot this coming April!

I hunt near Binghamton in a town called Sanford. A good friend of mine has 25 acres adjoining another +/-1000 acres. There are a good number of deer there with a few shooters running around. Neither my friend or myself got close enough last season with the bow and during rifle, we had to deal with yahoos running around with ATV's and cell phones....don't ask. We normally hunt just off of the property on the state land, but we finally got all of the agricultural equipment needed to plant a 5 acre food plot this Spring. We're going to finish plowing/tilling next weekend. Hopefully we'll have seeds in the ground 2 weeks later.

Our plan is to stay clear of the state land. Way and I mean waaaay too many schmucks out there. Opening morning, I had some dude walk up the hill and park his ass on a log 50 yards from me and start talking on his cell phone while I was in my tree stand. Five more feet and he would have been trespassing. He didn't know I was there until until he got up to stretch and light a smoke. I just shook my head at him and he left. Sucks when you plan all year and do all of your homework only to have it spoiled by some dude that picks up a gun one day a year.

Oh well....there's always next season and take out...lol.

Wow Binghamton is not exactly around the corner jersey would shave hours off your commute. I do know the feeling w/ A holes driving on atv's and encroaching thats how people get shot. I do private land only now my dad and uncle both live in the town where I hunt so through there contacts I have a nice spot to hunt that borders Club rented land so we just sit near the edge and when the club drives we get what ever they dont see. Been going to the same spot since 94 and we have had alot of success.
