Every time I'm on the FDR, I see the great looking rips and rock lines but never have I wet a line there. My old professor, (Tony Dilernia), owns Rocket Charters and fishes almost exclusively in the East River. I know he's caught his fair share of fish there.
The same goes for Roosevelt Island. Looks really fishy, but I can't say if it's good or bad due to the fact I've never fished there. I primarily fish in and around Jamaica Bay and the surrounding area.
