Broken baby bunny

Sorry but I really wasn't trying to be witty or cute with my subject title but a friend of mine hit a baby rabbit on Saturday night with her car and consequently brought it home. The rabbit has a compound fracture but has started to eat and drink water; my friend is unsure what to do at this point - She fears that if she drops the rabbit off at a shelter it will be put to sleep and she feels that she cannot afford to bring the bunny to a veterinarian. Any advice would be appreciated...

Bring it to the vet Andrew. They have ways of taking care of the finances and/or contacts of agencies who deal with injured wildlife. She is not responsible for the Rabbit so she wont have to pay.

where do you live? it needs a veterinarian likely!
Before even bringing it just to any vet call and see if they treat rabbits. PM me and i can let you know some good rabbit vets!

hahaha, pretty morbid but there is somewhat of a conclusion to this story: Franklin Lakes animal hospital called her back to make an appointment for Wednesday - they have a rehabilitaion center as well. Thank you for all of your advice and PM's!
