On Monday 5/25/09 an IED was detonated in front of the Starbucks just about 7 blocks from where I choose to sit and relax during a nights work when I can. Please be alert and observe your surroundings at all times. If you see something suspicious make sure you say something. Your safety and the safety of your loved ones is the most important thing in life. While I was picking up my nightly bottle of water I saw quite a few people walk by this location and a few more hanging out across the street. Targets like this are often targeted by out own homegrown terrorists to make a statement against corporate America, but anything is possible. Had this device been bigger quite a few people may have been severely injured or much worse.

I would be incredibly surprised if this was done by foreigners. The device went off early morning when there was little traffic in the area and nobody has claimed responsibility. If this was an organized group it would have been done to make a point and that point would not be made without them taking responsibility and everyone knowing who did it. I would say this is one of us. Someone with an axe to grind but not big enough to actually kill.

One of us could also be an organized group, just an amateurish organized group like those self-styled anarchists that like to hang out on college campuses and annoy people. I agree that it most likely is not a foreign or major terrorist organization.

I wonder if it is related to that bomb last year. I do not remeber the specifics but I know there was a suspect on a bike.
