I'm not saying the woman was an angel. Just listen to her potty mouth. That deserved a time out at the least but tasering an old woman can be construed as deadly force. What if she was on a pace maker or medications for arythmias...as many older people are...it could have killed her. Maybe macing her would have been better.

Actually mace is worse to use on the elderly than a taser. THey both are considered to be less than lethal weapons.

grabbing her and getting into a wrestling match on the side of a highway has been proven to be much more dangerous then tasing, And i know i am playing devils advocate here but once again he warned her if she had a pre existing medical condition maybe she should have thought of that before ignoring the warnings and directions to comply, The cop did not escalate that situation im positive on this. Im sure He would have much rathered issued her a ticket and be on his way. The abuse and publicity im sure he is getting is not what he was looking for when he put on his shield that morning.

the video was hosted by the AP we all know how honest the media is
probably edited out the three attempts she made to kick him in b***S
had he just cracked her in the head with his fist someone would still claim that that could have killed her too.

easily could have been avoided all she had to do was shut her mouth and follow instructions

Young people die from tasers too. In Southhampton, NY a mentally ill man in his 20's was tasered a couple of years ago and died, in front of an elementary school. Tough situation for the cop with that old lady, I would not want to be in his shoes.

I'm sure that grown man which was much bigger than that old lady could have taken her to the ground and cuffed her.......trigger happy anyone?

apparently, you don't mind an old woman, being 'taken out' by a bigger man!...but seriously, I'm not sure that getting physical with her, would look much better, than tazing!

I don't think the size of the officer made any difference to her, big or small that officer had a problem on his hands, and she was not going to listen to his commands. He did what he thought was right, we may not like it, but to this officer it was his choice at diffusing the situation.

He should have given her a suplex then an elbow from the roof of the car. Then finish her off with the Hogan leg drop. They call that the early bird special.lol

she's lucky he didn't have the beanbag gun lol. He was well within his rights and if she's that resistant to arrest how did he not know she wasn't armed with a gun or a knife (this was in Texas after all)? I'm sorry but if I was in that situation and I thought for even a second I might not go home that night, you better believe they're getting tased.

Her lawyer dropped the case? I wonder why?

Cuz it's the old "we won't prosecute you for the glaucoma medicine and you won't press charges on us routine."

:tired:

Personally, I think the officer should have been breast fed as a baby or maybe just hugged more.

That's all I have to say about that.
