This is the Bengal up in Yonkers. I got an update last night that he is now using the litter box however he is very shy and timid. It could be his surroundings as hes in a house with other cats and dogs. Rick you have first dibbs sorta speaking so let me know.

Bengal cats

Hello - I found this thread in a search I did for adoptable bengal cats in NY. I am very serious about adopting a bengal...I will travel just about anywhere in NY. I have 2 other cats and one dog in my home that I have rescued. It is a dream of mine to own a bengal, but I would rather adopt one in need of a home than buy one from a breeder. Please let me know if there are any available...I know your original post was from November. Thanks so much - [email protected]

Awibrandy- I am going to quote your post with the photos just because your cats are BEAUTIFUL!

Is there a particular reason why there is a bengal specific rescue group? Does this breed have a specific personality trait or perhaps they are very active that people end up getting rid of them?

My wife and I have three cats. She had a doll faced persian and I had a DSH, a third adopted us! A BEAUTIFUL long haired domestic that would come up to me on the street. Eventually I brought him in on a cold day and when we took him to the vet he had a chip. Turns out one of my "lovely" neighbors threw him in the street. (I had even gone to the neighbors door to see if he had lost his cat)

Send me pics and I will keep them in mind the next time one of our guests start asking about our lovely cats, i will tell them they can have one of their very own!

Alfred

I wish I could, but with 3 cats & 3 dogs in the house I am maxed out.
Here's a couple of pics of 2 beautiful Bengals plus a link to info one these gorgeous cats.

As it stands i should be getting another Bengal that will be up for adoption. Im waiting on pics and it should be brought to me in a few weeks. From the info i have on the cat its 6 year old male. Hes is 2 paw declawed. Up to date on shots etc. He has congeniative cataract in one of his eyes that requires NO medical attention. Im also told he should be an only cat as he may pee outside of the litter box when with other cats. But does not have that problem when by himself. Very well mannered and tempered so if there is anyone that might be interested please PM me and as soon as i recieve pics i will post them here.

Alfredo, I could only wish those were my kitties! Those are Internet pics I found.:)
My kitties are Russian Blue, DSH Tiger, DLH Coon Mix Tiger, Maine Coon, and another gray DMH kitten.:)
I may still one day be able to adopt a Bengal. Who knows how far I can push hubby with the kitties.LOL We haven't caught up to his friend/co-worker who has 7.LOL

Ooooooooh Chrisssssssssssssssssss, that last sentence is meant for you buddy.;)

Id suggest getting her cat spayed after the kittens are weaned. If you need low cost spay/neutering i know the ASPCA does it cheaply with there mobile clinic for people who reside in NYC and the 5 boroughs. Theres also a low cost spay/neuter mobile clinic that makes its round around here. Petco by Roosevelt field is one of the stops. Let me know if you need more info.

Chris, would love to help. But from the info on the one coming up it really needs a home where he will be the king of the home.;)

Keep me in mind if you come across one that looks like the one in my first pic please:) Hubby liked that one, and it will make it that much easier for him to say "yes".lol
