I’m looking for a roommate for April 1st. I don’t have the apartment yet, but im looking for locations in Astoria/LIC. Once I found a roommate, I want to start looking for a broker/non-broker apartment in February.

I am a 28-year-old Network Administrator in Manhattan. I’m looking for a male or female roommate 25-35.

The ideal apartment is in the price range of $1800-$2400/m. So roughly $900-$1200 a month each – plus whatever heat/electric/cable is.

DETAILS:
I have a cat. If you have an animals or allergies, let me know.
You need to be willing to co-sign the lease.
You need to have a stable job and 2-3 paychecks to prove income.
Must pay half of the security deposit and possible brokers fee (if we can’t find a place via of avenues)

Matt, you should also request that the roommate applicant submit to you an authorization for you to run a credit report on them. Don't forget credit references.....and make sure you actually call the references.

I rented out numerous properties of mine and never had any issues with tenants because I made sure to do very thorough background checks.

if the roommate is going to be a co-signatory on the lease the landlord is probably going to run a credit check on him anyway.

u gotta also make sure the room mate likes reef tanks !! .. and if theres a jacuzzi..i might take up that offer with the hourly rate..i need a spot after the clubs to "crash" =P
