I got an estimate today for $1800 for 2 windows 27x58 from cityproof what they do is install a window on the inside of your existing window that is kind of like a storm window but on the inside and made of 2 pieces of glass with some kind of film between them.
The price is a lot more than what I paid for those 2 windows that I just replaced they are vinyl double insulated but still dont stop the noise from the annoying neighbors who dont shut up at 3am till I go outside half naked and scream at them . Then I cant go back to sleep so I usually bring my harley out 6am and wake them up so the rest of my neighbors probably think I'm an @** hole for making all that noise. This has been going on for the past 12 years though every year there are different tenants next door but they always seem to like sitting under my bedroom window talking loud all night. I just figure the $1800 is less than the lawyer bills I'll have to pay the day I lose control.
I have gone as far as soundproofing my entire room the way a recording studio would be done but the windows let sound in like passing cars can be heard but that's not a problem .
Has anyone used these people before or done any diy soundproof windows ?
And please dont move this to the wwwaaaaaaaaahhhh thread
