Electric is the best. No break in period. Put it together and run it right away. I have 15 Tamiya Electrics. I have been building them since I was a kid. The only thing is once you get one, you want more and more and more and you also want to MOD MOD MOD them :lol2: Kinda like reefing!

Tell me about it chief lmao- is why I limit my time with it I have done them since I was a kid also but way more spread out have only done 3 altogether but love em like you said assemble and run- no worries about glow plugs, motors burning up or the dangers of nitro- is pretty hazardous to store and use.

I was building a kit in a day. at one point in time, modding it for a week or so and restoring an old one just to kill time then buying a new one etc. Expensive but very satisfying.

If you want to do short runs, electric is the way to go.

I love nitro cars, but the time it takes to maintain and keep them running, isn't always worth it if you just want to bash around for 10-15 min.

Todays brushless motors BLOW ME AWAY!

If you do go for a nitro buggy, I think 1/8 scale is a great balance of size, speed, durability, and price.

For all around bashing, you cant beat a stampede. Available in both nitro and brushless RTR.

Not sure if these things count, but I'll post them anyway :)

My oldest son has forever been into building remote control trucks..there are an awful lot of Big Foot & Grave Digger type trucks still here..but last year he got involved with these things. He & his GF are leaving for a big meet on Friday in PA. East Coast something-or-other is the group, hence the name on the building that me & his GF have spent the last 2 1/2 nights building for the event.
I have seen videos he has taken there and they have all sorts of buildings to drive around and through and this is his first contribution.
He still wants to light it and finish the interior, add the rear doors and cut windows into the front doors..but after this meet.
Anyway..he is taking along 3 current trucks. I even have to admit they are impressive. Wish I could have done a video as the sounds they make are amazing..and the smoke and all..blinkers, hoods (?) that go up automatically..

anyway - enjoy the pics..and do tell me if these don't fit into this thread :)

The building is 2 x 4 foot..and the ONLY reason that awful table cloth is on my dining room table is to protect it from getting scratched..lol

very cool trucks :)

well now after visiting the local hobby shops im even more confused ... i know in the near future i will be building an electric street car to be just plane nasty fast...but first i want something i can use all around off road on road ect. ...i see pretty fast monster trucks now... if i go monster truck im gonna go with the team associated mgt 8.0....still deciding truggy or monster truck. im leaning twards the monster truck bc im gonna build a street car in the near future.any input?

I always lean towards the clod buster.

Old school I love that truck-- I remember when it first came out first to be that big and have 2 motors for 4 wheel drive and had 4 wheel steering if I remember right, but was so expensive at the time each time I got close to a box with one in it my pockets would drain- never did find all that cash lol. My cousin had the blackfoot was a cool truck or Vanessas Lunch Box- the yellow van.

Only thing about the monster trucks is they roll easier- if your wanting to go fast at all off road I'd go with a truggy- Team Associateds are always a quality product.

Just my opinion

I loved the pumpkin also- I liked all the trucks but like you said was never able to afford the clod bad ass truck, well my dad couldnt afford it he bought me my cars at that time. I dont even know if any of you heard of my first kit it was the FUTABA FX-7 THEN THE RC-10 came out later in the year I got my Futaba and was whoopin every car on the track- I used to belong to ROAR and raced at a small track in East Meadow every sunday next to Holy Trinity high school- theres a house on the lot it was in

I think the FX7 was my first kit too. I wish I still had it. I had a lot of fun times stomping around with that bad boy. My uncles put it together for me. Did it come with all the servos and the remote? Can't remember if they came together...

Getting a little off topic :happysad:

I still have two Tamiya Super Shots. Both with many period correct racing parts. One of them was my first RC car. I got it as a gift back in 1986.
