I use the mr clean with febreze in it the purple colored one smells great and clean pretty good they have this stuff called elimanate in the pet stores that works pretty well but it not cheap I would just use the bald guy

Yeah, Meg was good almost from the beginning. And we got her before the whole crate-training craze. While she was being house trained, and even for a time after that in case of accidents, we had her penned with baby gates in the kitchen. That way any accidents would be on tile & not carpet. She learned pretty quickly, though.
jaa, I don't know what Swiffer being a company and wanting to make sales has to do with anything... I didn't quote Swiffer in my responses anywhere, and I never would. But "almost identical" makes all the difference in chemistry. One solitary different atom can be all it takes to change a compound from unsafe to safe.
Yes but it is the compounds and chemicals that are in it that are the same deadly ones in Febreeze. And I was just stating a fact, companies wanna make money they don't care about a dog. Take Toyota for example, They went on record saying their cars were faulty and didn't wanna recall all of them because they thought they could fix it over time. Then they did a minor recall to make people happy but still didn't fix the issue. Now where are they. all the plants are closed and their profits are down 14% and are belived to go down again next Quarter. If you think companies are in it for you then you are a fool. They are in it for the dollar.
Dude, where did I say that companies were in anything "for me." You're attributing comments or thoughts to me that I didn't say and about which I have made no indication at all. Is this just a rant against the bad practices of "big business"? If it is, you can save it, 'cause I'm with you. I'm the first one to say Toyota was wrong, I'm the first to say McDonald's was wrong (yes, they were, if you have investigated the REAL facts of the coffee case rather than listening to the hype), I'm the first to applaud any David taking down any Goliath. Absolutely.

The point is whether Swiffer pads are OK for dogs, not whether Swiffer purposely makes them OK for dogs, whether they care if they're OK for dogs, or whether the company is at all ethical. I. Don't. Care. I care that my dog and cats are safe. They are. End of story.

Some good info here thanks I will be getting my puppy next weekend at 8 weeks. The breeder already has them going outside in the am and afternon and such. It has been a long time since I had a puppy (12Years) So looking forward to it. Hope she doesn't have any accidents. I only crated my other dog when we were not home Other then that she had full run of the house slept with me in my room on her pillow since the day we got her and had no accidents it was great she is great :0)
Aw, and is that your old puppy in your avatar? Dogs are the best (don't tell the cats I said that)! I hope she doesn't have accidents, but don't count on it.
Just be careful - just because the breeder has her going outside, don't think it's safe for walks and all that yet. She'll need at least some of her vaccinations first.What breed are you getting?
We got our first dog when I was a kid, and haven't been dogless since. When the first (a Maltese) died, we got another Maltese, then after that one came the dog I have now (half Sheltie, half Eskimo). When I moved out of my parents' house, my dad missed her, so my parents got their Pit. And my sis & her husband have, in addition to the rest of their menagerie, a Pit and a (mostly) black lab mutt.

Yes that is herin the avatar. she's a corgi mix real cute. As for the new edition it's a Shiloh Shepherd She has gotten whatever shots so far and dewormed. She will be ok outside. Mine has been going ouside since the day I got her. As for walking her that will be hard cause I am on crutches for another 2 weeks or so (foot surgery) . All of my dogs have been great with accidents Eating the couch was another story LOL I will do the same as I have done with the other dogs that I have been blessed to have in my life. Before the surgery I made sure there were no excape places in my yard Going to teach her to go potty in 1 place in the yard and not all over like the other dogs have done cause while I was at work they were to lazy to bring her to the "potty place" Since I will be home for another 5 weeks or so I should get her used to where she should go potty . This is my first purebredd all others have been mutts. I am so excited we need some change in this house since my dad passed change up the routine a bit around here.

Sorry about the foot - sounds painful. It's great, though, that you'll be home with her for the beginning, that'll help tremendously with training.
I have to laugh about your dog eating the couch, my parents' Pit (all terriers are notorious chewers, but Pit teeth are a lot bigger than Yorkie teeth!) ate the interior of my dad's Jeep as a puppy. When he went to return it (it was leased), they wanted ELEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS for the damage. He talked 'em down to $6,000. Crazy. But even our first Maltese (also a terrier, albeit a 4 lb one) gnawed my parents' kitchen chair rungs down to toothpick size. The second Maltese went after the stair railing.
My current dog only ate things with a purpose:
My parents' backyard wasn't fenced in, so we had a long rope tied to the back porch with a hook on it to hook Meg's collar to so she could run around and we didn't have to worry about her taking off. Yeah. She chewed through the rope and took off anyway. Dad tied it back together, she did it again. We got the stake and cable you get at pet stores - metal so she couldn't eat it - she dug up the stake and took off with the whole thing attached! She's a stubborn little brat! But smart!
She chewed her leash in half. As a puppy, she really wasn't big on restraint.
The best story is this one... like I said, we kept her penned in the kitchen with baby gates. Well, as she got a little bigger, she was able to jump over them, so my parents raised up the gates bit by bit, until Meg could finally crawl under. That was no good, so they lowered them back, and mom admonished Meg, "No more jumping over the gates!" I'm not kidding, when I tell you the very next day, we went out and came home to find Meg up at the top of the stairs by the bedrooms, nowhere near the kitchen. Mom was all ready to yell at her for jumping, but then we saw the gate. It wasn't one of the new ones with all bars, this was 12 years ago and it just had a plastic crosshatch filling in the frame. Meg ate the plastic and walked through. But she didn't jump!

Thats too funny When I had my shepherd mix we had a big peice off wood blocking the kitchen held up by 2 rought iron chairs she would sit in the chairs. All u would see were her eyes and ears then she would go onto the ktchen table and look over then ly down and fall asleep roll over and fall off she was a crazy dog. She would also climb up the ladder to get into the pool She was the one that ate everything cigarette butts out of the ashtray she would go into the shower and eat the soap she pulled all the wallpaper off the kitchen walls so my mom then put her in the bathroom so she would pull that off My mom wanted new wll paper LOL The dog I have now is an angel and has been since the day we got her from the shelter. She had a mini stroke now her face is a little crooked and her hips are going cause she jumps up and down the stairs cause her legs are to short to do 1 at a time. She is still crazy full of energy. I carry her up the stairs but now I can't so she can't go own them till I can walk. I love her she's my Baby Madison Angel The new dog will be named Sable and this week is going to take forever can't wait till sat to get her I am sick of looking at pictures of her I want to hold and smoosh her.

(Urbana, IL) May 6, 2004 -- Veterinary toxicologists at the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center have reviewed the claim described in a widely distributed email alleging a relationship between the use of Swiffer Wet Jet and liver failure in a dog. The email alleges that exposure to the ingredients in Swiffer Wet Jet caused a dog's death.
The Swiffer Wet Jet system contains water (90-100%), propylene glycol n-propyl ether or propylene glycol n-butyl ether and isopropyl alcohol (1-4%). These ingredients are safe to use around pets when used according to label directions and would not cause liver damage at product concentrations. Propylene glycol n-butyl/propyl ether differs significantly from ethylene glycol, the potentially toxic ingredient present in most antifreeze products. Ethylene glycol is frequently implicated in causing renal failure in dogs following antifreeze ingestion. Propylene glycol n-propyl ether and propylene glycol n-butyl ether are very safe ingredients at levels used in cleaning products and do not cause kidney or liver failure.

You are talking about liver failure and also do you know how antifreeze and swifter products work in an animal? They work over time not right away and the chemicals never leave the animals body. I can go pull info off of the net also that says complete oppositte of yours.
