Local Freshwater forums?

Hello all,
I just recently moved into manhattan (pretty close to the manhattan aquariums store). I do freshwater for now malawi cichlids and am looking for a local forum. I'm trying to hunt down some cynotilapia afra.
Also this is on topic but where do I get some light diffusers, home depot in midtown east didn't have any :-(

Not local, but my favorite fresh water site is monsterfishkeepers.com, cichlid-forum.com is also good. You will find lots of locals on those sites.

I'm trying to do a planted malawi tank, everyone on cichlid-forums was saying it can't be done, but then I saw one on plated tank that inspired me :-D.

I have joined nycichlidforum and will check out east coast cichlid.

problem is they usually will eat the plant or keep up rooting them,

I have planted Mbuna tanks...and they run and look fine.
