Help my dog is in Heat!!!!!

My English bull dog is in heat and can't stop doing the you know what!!!
I have a 3 yr old male English bull dog and 2yr male old english bull dog (his son). yeah it sound bad father and son but I need this to stop.
It all started 3 weeks ago when I got the 2yr old testy removed so he calms down a little, Every since I brought him back from the doctor his dad been trying to rap him every night. I washed him good b/c thought he had a smell to him and still the same issue. The 2yr old does not have heat!!
So 2 days ago we removed the 3yr olds testy also to see if that was it and that did not work. I cant keep them together for more then a 5mins without it happening again, The vet doctors never heard of this and bushed me off?

What should I do?
Has anyone had good success with stopping this?

Male dogs do not go into heat. The mounting thing happens in a dominance situation. The older dog knows something is different(new smell or lack of) and is trying to show the younger one that he is in charge. My Yorkies do that sometimes. That is the info I found when I was researching the problem.

i have 2 male dogs, one an american bulldog, the other a rottweiler/bulldog mix, bot still have their "boys" and they go thru their moments of whose humping who.. a dominance thing.. you gotta be the alpha dog and control your pack... youtube ceasar milan!! hell sho you hes the best.. Plus it does take a few days for the testosterone to fade out so reinforce your pack leadership and wait a week.

To reiterate what has already been stated that is the way your older dog is letting your younger dog know that he is over him. Nothing new about this behavior in doggy world. You showing them that you are the alpha male will not stop the behavior. And NO your older dog is not going to rape your younger dog even if it seems that way to you.lol
My three dogs go through this at times with my big dumb Bandog being on the receiving end, yes including my female.LOL The two brindles (M & F) will do it to each other, and the bandog as well. The bandog doesn't do that, but the other two will try to do it to him. My bandog just growls, and snaps at them, and they stop. Of course if they do it in front of any of us we tell them to stop, and they stop. This has been going on for over a year or so since my son moved back home with his crazy dog.arggggggggggg
But again, it is no big deal. No fights have broken out of this behavior. It is their way.

My advice is to just make sure that it doesn't lead to a fight were one or both dogs end up getting hurt.

Jarrett, if it is really bothering you that much seperate them by putting them in seperate rooms at bedtime, and when ever you leave your home. This is what we do, just to be at eased that they don't end up in a fight.

Buster humps Luna whenever he gets the chance. When I go to bed, Buster goes in his crate. Some people don't have room for crates. Before I got a crate, I tethered Buster to the bed leg with a leash while I was sleeping. Worked just fine.

Oh wow! I feel for you buddy! You haven't said anything about the neighbors complaining about the barking. Guess you either live a good distance from the neighbors, or your house is that well insulated.

Have either of your dogs showed any aggression towards the other?

Jarret, I have worked with dogs for a long time. I'm definitely no expert but after years of experience I would suggest that you just let them do there thing. There is obviously dominance issues going on and may take a while to sort out.... To me separating them is not rectifying the problem and will only make things worse. I understand that 99% of dog owners are not great trainers and do not have perfect citizens as pets but in most cases the separation of pets causes more problems. All separation will really do is mask problems and they will get worse as time goes on. When your home you should be correcting the behavior, definitely not be separating them.. Obviously this depends if True aggression is involved.

I agree with awibrandy only if the dogs are fighting with alot of agression....I would then separate them when you aren't around to avoid a problem that cannot be corrected because you aren't there. But If they aren't fighting to kill each other then leave them together to work out there issues lol. If that doesn't work over the next few weeks then you need to get involved and like other people say show who the dominant male really is -YOU


if all else fails i would contact ceasar milan...im sure they would love to do a show on this lol. or maybe he could give you some advice? is there a place to post on his website? have you tried any dog forums or searching this behavior?

hey Jarret if it makes you feel any better my 4yr female bulldog trys to mount my wife and i , its a dominants thing, but it makes me wonder what is going on in my house when i work nights :scratchch

Well after 4 days of the older one had his junk removed he did slow down a little.
Its not as much as before and only happens when they play now. I keep you guys posted in a couple more days
