Recently I visited Panama?s hidden jewel the region of Bocas Del Toro. Bocas are the group of small islands on the Caribbean coast sharing borders with Costa Rica. I scuba for many years and by now have seen a lot of wonders. I was not disappointed; actually I was pleasantly surprised by untouched underwater paradise of Bocas. I did take number of pictures; especially I like one place next to the little Island of Coral Cay. I have seen a paradox of sea star aggregations in thousands. I will not go into diving details; this forum is for fish and coral hobby enthusiasts. Therefore I will just post number of pictures for your view and hope pleasure. Let me know if you like them and if you have any questions related to them or to the trip to Bocas.

Please do not forget to vote.

Above picture of Ricordea Florida rock completely covered with Ricordea. The rock size was about 3 x 1 feet. What a beauty. Each Ricordea was about 3-3.5 inch in diameter

Cowfish,
I dived with La Buga Scuba Dive Center wich is located in Bocas Town on Isla Colon. Basicaly Isla Colon is the lrgest island among all Bocas and everyother dive shop and everything else is located on the main street.
The dive instructors are pleasent, dive equipment is not so new and chic but did surved well witout any hick-up.
Single tank dive cost $30 (all equipment included) ? very inexpensive.
No shore dives, however there is one ship wrek dive with is 3-5 min ride from the shop.
Have not seen any big fish, seen turtles, baracudas small to midium size, moray eels (green and spoted).
I was not lucky to see dolfins but they say that on ocasion you can see them.
Overall i was pleased because the underwater micro fauna and flora is amaizing, especially number of sea stars and varaety of sponges. I have collected few stars and few small pieces of red sponge on the snorkling trip we took(20-25 min boat ride and $20 a person). Currently the stars and the sponge living in my tank and doing well. I am sorry I did not collect the purple-yllow sponge ? this would be a collection prize for my 125 Gal. Reef tank. I could not fine detached pice under water and did not want to break any, so I just got the pictures.
I will recomend to dive at Bocas ? still it is expensive to get there and it?s a bitof a husle as well. Need to be a dedicated diver to do this trip.
I hope this unswered all your questions.
I used nothing fancy for underwater photography, just a Canon PowerShot camera with a special underwater case.
Thanks to all for compliments on my pictures and Reefman sorry you did not really like them.
