Jon, welcome back bud. The colors are looking outstanding. And I agree with everyone, a FTS now is great for comparison later.

The star leg is awesome. Nice macro shooting. My mandarin has never (in over 2 years) been photographed. He see's my camera coming from across the room and scurries away.

I assume you've got a macro lens for your camera - what are the spec on that, out of curiosity?

liisa, it's a tamron 90mm f2.8, it's a decent macro lens. I 'd like to get a longer one to reach further back into the tank.

My mandarin has never (in over 2 years) been photographed. He see's my camera coming from across the room and scurries away.

Russ, mine also. But since I put some sand in the tank he's out front all the time. I've got some amazing shots of him now. Jose is a star :)

thanks T, sometime soon  :splitspin

the starfish leg looks like it has ice on it. very cool!
Leslie in your honor i will name the two star fish chip and dale ;)
You should get some for your tank, they burry in the sand and
they move around the tank really fast.

Those two mandarin shoots are great! I really like them. What kinda camera are you using?

thanks, it's a nikon D200.

awww.....shucks :flirt:

those sand sifting stars need a really mature sand bed as they are heavy eaters. my tank is still new enough that they would eat all of the other beneficial things in my sand bed pretty quickly and then starve to death. typical newbie lament..."i can't have anything yet... :-("
