I'm really starting to like the Fuji FinePix 7.1-Megapixel Digital Camera S700. Does anyone have this camera on this board and can you show pics of some fish and corals? I cant afford the canon DSLRs but the fuji is more in my budget.

You should go to dpreview.com or steve's digicams. Dpreview actually shows pictures taken with camera. If the fuji is a slr I can't see why you shouldn't buy, but if it isn't a slr just do your best to get a nikon d50 at the least. I would suggest the d40/d40x but not all af lenses work with them. I've got a panasonic dmc-fz20 will start a thread with pics I took today but my next camera is a Nikon d80 d200 or a Canon digital rebel xti.

It all depends on the operator of the equipment and the settings you use.

I couldn't agree more. If it was just the camera we would all be professionals. Some user input is definately needed. People often ask what camera am i using, but they should really follow it up by asking what settings did i use. At least that's what i do.

I finally went out and bought a new camera. Originally I wanted the Fuji FinePix 7.1-Megapixel Digital Camera S700. I went to J&R and they didnt have it. Instead they had a higher model the S6000. It was $350 and the newer S9100 is $450. They had the S9100 on special for $399.99! It has 9MP. I bought it and I'm definitly happy with the upgrade from the sony cybershot which had like 4MP. Here are a few shots. I know some may be blurry but I'm still new to picture taking and messing with the settings.
