Finally I have aquired a Sarcophyton Elegans. (Yellow Fiji Leather) It is gonna take awhile for this guy to achieve full beautification since it is so sensitive to change. The pores where the polyps are going to come out are very flourescent yellow. I will post an update picture when it decides to perk up and open.

How long should I really expect it to perk back up? I have read everywhere and they state "A couple of days". It has been 2 days and it still looks pretty saggy.

Back in the old days, mine took over a week to extend and look normal. Be patient, they are pretty hardy animals.

My S.elegans will close up for weeks at a time. Most Sarcophytons do this while molting or acclimating.

I came home today to see it shredding/tearing at the base. I repositioned it so it is just leaning against a rock. I am so upset. I hope it pulls through.
