Help people.. i keep trying to take pictures with my Sony Cybershot p9, and it's so tough! Anyone have an outline or some advice on basic reef aquarium photography.
I'm still learning myself. This is probably real basic but I have found through trial and error to get ok results:
- Tripod is a must, use 1 or 2 second delay to avoid camera shake when snapping a shot
- Use lower intensity setting on flash if you can (assuming you're not using a storbe or something more advanced)
- Shoot at an angle to avoid glare
- White balance set to flourescent seems to work well if you have the setting or something similar
I have taken a couple good shots out of hundreds I'm curious how people get the shots that look like theu were taken w/ the lights off using flash, i.e. lots of deep shadows and very rich colors. Just a guess but do you need a strobe or external flash to achieve this?
