I used to have just a regular logitech webcam setup but I haven't been running it in a while. The key isn't really the camera it is the software running it. I used to run windows media encoder and it made great streaming video but it would lock up about every 2 or 3 days and need rebooted. Not good if you are out of town. I bought that software that would let you reboot it remotely but that wasn't always a sure thing and sometimes it wouldn't work.

The webcam software that comes with xp seems to work well for some of the people I know using it but I haven't spent the $ to upgrade my old machine to xp to see if it would work for me.

Baalzamon is using the xp software and it seems to be doing really well. He doesn't most much though.

FWIW, Nathan

I too travel extensively and have run my fishcam very succesfully with Linskys 802.11b wireless router which runs on my broadband (Optimum OnLine here in Ct.) and a Linksys Wirelss-B 2.4HGZ 802.11 Internet Video Camera... it's very easy to install and the speed is great - looks perfectly life like since the broadband speed is high. System will assigne you a unique IP address. From time to time the system needs to be re-booted by just unplugging both the router and the camera for a few minutes. There can only be 4-5 viewers at a time but its great to watch the tank when away. :P
