I've heard you can containers so you can use your camera underwater. I'm going to be in the east caribbean next month, and was thinking of looking for something for my fuji finepix.

Is that possible? If so, where is a good place to look, or what are they called so I can do a search :)

Candide,

They're called "underwater housings," or just housings.

They certainly exist, but the key is whether one exists for your particular camera (in order for the controls to line up, housings are unique to each model). Depending on how serious you are and the results you want to achieve, you can spend a little to a lot on a housing.

It appears Fuji does make housings for (some?) Finepix models, so you may be in luck. The accessories section of the Fuji site appears broken at the moment, but Google finds a bunch of hits, including this review:

Hope that helps!

Where are you going? I will be in the BVI from the 28th of dec to the 9th of Jan. I am getting a new Ikelite housing/port/strobe set up for christmas for my drebel and can't wait. We just got new engines for the boat too so we will be able to hit lots of far out dive sites.

Yeah, I have a couple of pictures of that tank, but from the front and just above its extremely hard to get good images. And, it basically looks like the reefs right off the dock beside the aquarium... a few fish and little else.

Everything inside the aquarium was in awesome shape though, well tended. The one tank that needed more work is the small reef right at the entrance where the ticket booth is located.
